The 2 piece is deliberately minimal: a Japanese style ceramic matcha bowl and a bamboo whisk. That is genuinely all it takes to make a decent bowl of matcha, and it is the cheapest honest way into the habit.
The 7 piece adds the scoop, whisk stand, sifter and spoon. The sifter is the piece people skip and then regret, because matcha clumps in the tin and no amount of whisking breaks a lump that went in dry.

Common questions
Ceremonial grade is made from young first-harvest leaves and is meant to be whisked with water and drunk on its own. Culinary grade is designed to hold its flavour against milk and sugar in lattes and baking.
Sift a small measure into a bowl, add water at around 80 degrees rather than boiling, and whisk briskly until it foams. For a latte, make that paste first and then add your milk.
Keep it sealed, cold and away from light. Matcha loses colour and sweetness quickly once air reaches it, so reseal it properly after every use.
