Medium roast coffee beans
Medium roast is the safest place to start. It keeps some of the origin's sweetness and fruit, adds caramel from the roast, and has enough body for a flat white. Good starting points: The Smuggler Colombian for black coffee, Caffe Moda Allure for espresso, and Bravo Supreme as an all-rounder.
Medium or dark roast for an espresso machine?
