Description

A six piece set in kiln baked or antique pottery finishes, whisk and stand included.

Six pieces covers the full working set: matcha bowl, bamboo whisk, whisk stand, scoop, sifter and spoon. Nothing missing, nothing you will not use.

Five finishes. Three are kiln baked in white, black or blue, where the glaze pools and varies through the firing. Two are antique pottery in coffee and black, which are matte and rougher to the hand.

Rinse the bamboo in warm water and stand it tines up on the holder. A chasen that dries flat loses its shape within a month. Delivered Australia wide from our supplier's warehouse, shipping calculated by weight at checkout.

Common questions

What is the difference between ceremonial and culinary grade?

Ceremonial grade is made from young first-harvest leaves and is meant to be whisked with water and drunk on its own. Culinary grade is designed to hold its flavour against milk and sugar in lattes and baking.

How do I prepare it?

Sift a small measure into a bowl, add water at around 80 degrees rather than boiling, and whisk briskly until it foams. For a latte, make that paste first and then add your milk.

How should I store it?

Keep it sealed, cold and away from light. Matcha loses colour and sweetness quickly once air reaches it, so reseal it properly after every use.
